YOUNGBERG HILL is a fairly new assembly of bluegrass musicians, but within its members boasts over 100 years of combined bluegrass band experience!
Andrew Spence, plays banjo and guitar, and lead vocalist.
Hal Spence, Andrew’s dad, plays guitar and some banjo, played guitar and sang tenor with the , “The Sawtooth Mountain Boys”, for 26 years, and now plays with Youngberg Hill, and with “The EOCenes”. Hal sings with his son Andrew sharing a family blend on harmonies that captures the soul of Bluegrass music.
Kim Jones has been in two Northwest bands over the past 30 years; playing mandolin with “Higher Ground” and bass fiddle with “Roundhouse” in the late 90s. Kim plays bass fiddle and featured on some lead, and sings harmonies.
Dave Elliot, plays mandolin, and is also featured as a lead vocalist. played with “The Loafers” and “Sunny South”. Dave is also a long-time DJ host for the KBOO radio bluegrass show, “Music From the True Vine, and also manufactures “Ultimate Capos”.
