Like a willowy heron\, Quattlebaum struts around on stage as the music moves through him\, evoking a range of emotions from laughter to longing. DESCRIPTION:If you were to bump into a member of the County Fools in the real world – walking the streets of Portland\, kicked back on a barstool\, or wandering in a hayfield – you might think to yourself “Hey\, these are some good timin’ guys. There’s not a serious thing about these fellas. They’re just foolin’ around!” But friend\, you’d soon come to realize that there is one thing that The Fools take very seriously:  the great tradition of Bluegrass music. \nThe County Fools’ sound and sensibility is deeply rooted in that rich American dirt first tilled by the founders – folks like the Stanley Brothers\, Flatt and Scruggs\, and Bill Monroe – and further shaped by the great second generation of bluegrass musicians.  Continuing this tradition with reverence and creativity\, and playing this music as it’s meant to be played\, is the spirit that guides the County Fools each time they step up to the mic.

DESCRIPTION:Whiskey Deaf plays a lively mix of lesser known traditional bluegrass\, old-time and early country tunes\, and brings together a unique blend of styles and talents. They are all seasoned professionals\, but most importantly they share a genuine joy playing this music with one another\, and it comes through in every performance. \nCenter stage is Annie Staninec\, a uniquely gifted fiddle player that brings driving rhythm\, musicality and joyful exuberance to every performance. She has performed in over 20 countries with artists spanning from Peter Rowan to Rod Stewart\, and is on countless recordings in a variety of musical styles. Annie has been receiving musical recognition and awards since a young age\, and her fiddling is 100% guaranteed to put a smile on your face! \nAnnie will be joined by her musical partner John Kael on banjo\, a multi-instrumentalist and award-winning songwriter. Playing guitar is powerhouse singer and Oregon native Jered Widman\, and on mandolin Jeff Smith\, a founding member and contributing songwriter for the renowned Sam Hill bluegrass band\, and on bass will be Patrick Lind. Each of these musicians has decades of experience performing\, touring and teaching\, and together they create a unique and driving sound\, strongly rooted in traditional bluegrass and early country.  \nAll concerts start at 7:30 PM. Josh’s influences include Ralph Stanley\, Larry Sparks\, and Bill Monroe\, many of whom are featured on the Josh Cole Bluegrass Show\, his podcast with nearly 200 episodes of traditional bluegrass recordings. Josh has played in dozens of bands\, along with running his own hard-driving bluegrass band for nearly two decades. That’s why hometown fans have lovingly nicknamed him “The Elvis of Portland Bluegrass.” \nThunder Ridge – Thunder Ridge is a straight-ahead bluegrass band from Portland\, OR. The traditional five-piece band is made up of banjo\, guitar\, mandolin\, bass and fiddle. They will steal your heart with hard driving vocal harmonies and instrumentals. Allow them to take you down a path of yesteryear with a good old fashioned sound inspired by the masters of bluegrass\, and sprinkled with a few originals!

Members include some of the most seasoned players in the area including Bob Evoniuk on Dobro and Jeffery Jones on mandolin\, both founding members of Foxfire\, Siskiyou Summit of course\, 33 SD. On banjo is Rick Nelson also a founding member of Siskiyou Summit and of the Rogue Valley Bluegrass Boys. On fiddle is the amazing\, Jessie Watson who will delight you with her Bluegrass style on fiddle and harmony singing. On the upright bass is Holly Hurley who has a voice that will give you chills and finally\, on guitar is Kevin Andras\, who’s a well-known fixture in the Northern California music scene. Kevin’s guitar playing and singing adds the Drive in the 33 Strings arrangements. 33 String Drive’s vocal harmony singing is second to none!
