The spectrum reaches far and wide\, the bluegrass universe is expanding\, and Skillethead is on that ride! \nThe brain child of late night jams and carrot picking daydreams\, Skillethead was christened in the spring of 2019 by friends and longtime musical revelers Joe Schulte\, Benji Nagel\, and Garrett Miller. “I do believe we should start a band” someone said\, and thus it was so. With the additions of bass/vocal powerhouse Aaron Moore and fiddle maestro Casey Willis\, Skillethead is now a bona fide tour-de-force bluegrass machine.

DESCRIPTION:Slipshod is Matt Snook (dobro and banjo) and Steve Blanchard (guitar and mandolin). They met a number of years ago as part of the Northwest Bluegrass community and became fast friends and picking partners. They have similar musical styles\, yet they draw on many different influences like Gordon Lightfoot\, Norman Blake\, Simon and Garfunkel\, and Tim O’Brien\, to name a few. \nSlipshod formed in 2012. These musicians enjoy entertaining audiences with both their humor and musical skills. Matt and Steve offer listeners a broad and diverse range of music\, including originals\, familiar melodies and dynamic instrumentals. Their harmonies and unique vocal interpretations add to their precise instrumental talents.

DESCRIPTION:If you were to bump into a member of the County Fools in the real world – walking the streets of Portland\, kicked back on a barstool\, or wandering in a hayfield – you might think to yourself “Hey\, these are some good timin’ guys. There’s not a serious thing about these fellas. They’re just foolin’ around!” But friend\, you’d soon come to realize that there is one thing that The Fools take very seriously:  the great tradition of Bluegrass music. \nThe County Fools’ sound and sensibility is deeply rooted in that rich American dirt first tilled by the founders – folks like the Stanley Brothers\, Flatt and Scruggs\, and Bill Monroe – and further shaped by the great second generation of bluegrass musicians.  Continuing this tradition with reverence and creativity\, and playing this music as it’s meant to be played\, is the spirit that guides the County Fools each time they step up to the mic.
