DESCRIPTION:Tuesday String Band will be bringing their unique style of Jamgrass to Fire on the Mountain Buffalo Wings to get the crowd warmed up for the first Phish show in Portland since 1999! “Phans” are super stoked for this (including the members of TSB)\, and who could ask for a more fitting date and location than 4/20 at the Moda Center? \nFire on the Mountain Buffalo Wings was started by Jordan Busch and Sara Sawicki. The music-loving pair started off selling shirts and food out of concert parking lots\, and their popular business evolved into the multi-city\, multi-location phenomenon that we now know as Fire on the Mountain. There are 3 locations in Portland alone where they’ve become a Stumptown staple. We’ll see you there!

SUMMARY:Josh Cole Band Bluegrass Matinee at the Laurelthirst
DESCRIPTION:Josh Cole has been playing bluegrass in the Pacific Northwest for over 25 years. It started in the late 90s\, when he first heard “Midnight Moonlight” from Old and In the Way. That moment forever bonded Josh to bluegrass music. He went on to serve as President of the Oregon Bluegrass Association and continues to host “Music From the True Vine” on KBOO-FM\, the longest running bluegrass show West of the Mississippi.  Josh’s influences include Ralph Stanley\, Larry Sparks\, and Bill Monroe\, many of whom are featured on the Josh Cole Bluegrass Show\, his podcast with nearly 200 episodes of traditional bluegrass recordings.  Josh has played in dozens of bands\, along with running his own hard-driving bluegrass band for nearly two decades. That’s why hometown fans have lovingly nicknamed him “The Elvis of Portland Bluegrass.”

DESCRIPTION:Josh Cole has been playing bluegrass in the Pacific Northwest for over 25 years. It started in the late 90s\, when he first heard “Midnight Moonlight” from Old and In the Way. That moment forever bonded Josh to bluegrass music. He went on to serve as President of the Oregon Bluegrass Association and continues to host “Music From the True Vine” on KBOO-FM\, the longest running bluegrass show West of the Mississippi. Josh’s influences include Ralph Stanley\, Larry Sparks\, and Bill Monroe\, many of whom are featured on the Josh Cole Bluegrass Show\, his podcast with nearly 200 episodes of traditional bluegrass recordings. Josh has played in dozens of bands\, along with running his own hard-driving bluegrass band for nearly two decades. That’s why hometown fans have lovingly nicknamed him “The Elvis of Portland Bluegrass.”

DESCRIPTION:Slipshod – Slipshod bring two talented musicians blending vocals and dynamic instrumentals back to the stage. Matt Snook\, master dobroist and banjoist\, joins the flat picking guitar and mandolin of Steve Blanchard to feature a wide variety of material\, original song and arrangements of familiar melodies. They bring a fun set to share their love and passion for the music with folks.  \nSawtooth and Sons – Two fathers and sons team together for great vocal harmonies and song instrumentals along with original songs. Sawtooth and Sons continues a style of Oregon Bluegrass developed by the original Sawtooth Mountain Boys from the Willamette Valley. Both Rollie Champe and Hal Spence were members since the 1960s and are still among Oregon’s finest bluegrass musicians. Both have sons\, Brette Champe and Andrew Spence\, that have developed into really great musicians as well. They carry on a tradition of families sharing music through generations.
