In today’s paradoxical world where honoring tradition is often pitted against exploration and innovation\, the band confidently walks the line between the modern and the tried-and-true. They’ve gained a loyal following and continue to win over audiences everywhere from Reykjavik’s Iceland Airwaves to San Francisco’s acclaimed Hardly Strictly Bluegrass. They’ve gained the attention of industry veterans\, and toured in support of notable acts such as Yonder Mountain String Band and The Travelin’ McCourys\, among others. Never Come Down’s live performance never disappoints- with showmanship\, originality\, songwriting and musical prowess far beyond their years. \nTall Poppy String Band:\nTall Poppy String Band is a new Old Time trio featuring fiddler George Jackson\, guitarist Morgan Harris\, and banjoist Cameron DeWhitt. Drawing from the deep well of American string band music\, Tall Poppy String Band approaches tradition with playful curiosity; each performance more a discussion than a statement. This is a TICKETED EVENT. \nThis show will be offsite at the Oregon Institute of Marine Biology’s boathouse lecture hall. A beautiful venue with stunning views of the channel entrance to Coos Bay. Beer and wine will be available for purchase at the event\, as well as some onsite food offerings. This show is part of the Oregon Coast Music Association’s annual Music Festival\, and we are proud to be partnering once again to bring world class music to our coastal community. \nBluegrass heroes Stillhouse Junkies are on the forefront of breaking through the genre with their free-flowing musical interplay that weaves roots\, classical\, texas-swing and blues into a high-energy\, intricately composedyet expansively improvised tapestry of sound. \nThe trio\, Fred Kosak (guitar\, mandolin)\, Alissa Wolf (fiddle)\, Jeanette Adams (bass) are based in the wilderness town of Durango\, Colorado. Formed in 2017\, the band is already 3 albums deep with singles constantly streaming out including a collaboration with Tim O’Brien.
