SUMMARY:Luke Bulla at the Grants Pass Museum of Art
DESCRIPTION:Luke Bulla has been singing and playing music most of his life. Touring with and singing in his family band from age four\, Luke took up the fiddle at seven. Over the course of the next few years\, he won the National Fiddle Contest (in Weiser\, Idaho) six times in his respective age categories. His seventh win came in the Grand Champion division at age sixteen\, making him the youngest to have earned the title at the time. Entering Nashville’s Grand Master Fiddle Championship at age ten\, Luke distinguished himself by being the youngest person to have made the top ten. In addition to violin\, Luke plays guitar and mandolin\, and sings and writes songs.

SUMMARY:Josh Cole Band at Cooper Mountain Aleworks
DESCRIPTION:Josh Cole has been playing bluegrass in the Pacific Northwest for over 25 years. It started in the late 90s\, when he first heard “Midnight Moonlight” from Old and In the Way. That moment forever bonded Josh to bluegrass music. He went on to serve as President of the Oregon Bluegrass Association and continues to host “Music From the True Vine” on KBOO-FM\, the longest running bluegrass show West of the Mississippi. \nJosh’s influences include Ralph Stanley\, Larry Sparks\, and Bill Monroe\, many of whom are featured on the Josh Cole Bluegrass Show\, his podcast with nearly 200 episodes of traditional bluegrass recordings. Josh has played in dozens of bands\, along with running his own hard-driving bluegrass band for nearly two decades. That’s why hometown fans have lovingly nicknamed him “The Elvis of Portland Bluegrass.”

It started in the late 90s\, when he first heard “Midnight Moonlight” from Old and In the Way. That moment forever bonded Josh to bluegrass music. He went on to serve as President of the Oregon Bluegrass Association and continues to host “Music From the True Vine” on KBOO-FM\, the longest running bluegrass show West of the Mississippi. Josh’s influences include Ralph Stanley\, Larry Sparks\, and Bill Monroe\, many of whom are featured on the Josh Cole Bluegrass Show\, his podcast with nearly 200 episodes of traditional bluegrass recordings. Josh has played in dozens of bands\, along with running his own hard-driving bluegrass band for nearly two decades. Blending bluegrass with elements of rock\, alternative\, psychedelic and improvisational music\, Yonder Mountain String Band brought their high-energy acoustic sound and light show into rock n’ roll settings with tremendous success\, proving it was possible for a bluegrass band to not only exist but excel in a rock world\, without drums. The inroads they made created opportunities for like-minded acoustic bands to perform at festivals\, rock clubs\, theaters and stadiums previously considered off-limits for string bands. SUMMARY:33 String Drive at Dos Mariposas Vineyard
DESCRIPTION:33 String Drive is a six-piece Bluegrass/Americana band from Southern Oregon that includes fiddle\, banjo\, mandolin\, guitar\, Dobro and upright bass. The band was voted Best Bluegrass Band in the area by Sneak Preview magazine in 2024. Members include some of the most seasoned players in the area including Bob Evoniuk on Dobro and Jeffery Jones on mandolin\, both founding members of Foxfire\, Siskiyou Summit of course\, 33 SD. On banjo is Rick Nelson also a founding member of Siskiyou Summit and of the Rogue Valley Bluegrass Boys. On fiddle is the amazing\, Jessie Watson who will delight you with her Bluegrass style on fiddle and harmony singing. On the upright bass is Holly Hurley who has a voice that will give you chills. And finally\, on guitar is Robert Keane\, who’s a well-known fixture in the Bay Area Bluegrass music scene. Robert’s guitar playing and singing adds the Drive in the 33 Strings arrangements. \n33 String Drive’s vocal harmony singing is second to none! This is no “jam band!” This is a professional group that focuses on tight vocal harmonies\, intricate instrumental arrangements and most of all entertainment! In any set you may hear a mix of great original songs or arrangements of songs by Dolly Parton\, The Beatles\, The Waterboys\, Tom Petty\, Postal Service\, Trisha Yearwood\, Olivia Newton John\, Linda Ronstatd\, The Supremes or Bill Monroe. You just never know – but you will always be entertained!
