DESCRIPTION:Josh Cole has been playing bluegrass in the Pacific Northwest for over 25 years. It started in the late 90s\, when he first heard “Midnight Moonlight” from Old and In the Way. That moment forever bonded Josh to bluegrass music. \nHe went on to serve as President of the Oregon Bluegrass Association and continues to host “Music From the True Vine” on KBOO-FM\, the longest running bluegrass show West of the Mississippi.  \nJosh’s influences include Ralph Stanley\, Larry Sparks\, and Bill Monroe\, many of whom are featured on the Josh Cole Bluegrass Show\, his podcast with nearly 200 episodes of traditional bluegrass recordings.  \nJosh has played in dozens of bands\, along with running his own hard-driving bluegrass band for nearly two decades. DESCRIPTION:Dadweed is an acoustic trio based out of Portland\, OR. Reimagining pickin’ and thumpin’ by blending elements of jazz/folk/pop/R&B within a traditional bluegrass lens\, their sets explore a wide variety of styles and dynamics – with a focus on improvisation – showcasing both covers and originals. \nLeaning heavily into three-part vocal harmonies and virtuosic instrumentation\, dadweed strives to redefine what’s possible in bluegrass. The trio has toured throughout the west coast since 2024\, appearing at festivals\, venues\, and private events. dadweed released their first EP in Summer 2024 and will continue to release new singles throughout 2025.

Local producers come together every Saturday at this family event that promotes thinking locally and supporting your neighbors. They’re just foolin’ around!” But friend\, you’d soon come to realize that there is one thing that The Fools take very seriously: the great tradition of Bluegrass music. \nThe County Fools’ sound and sensibility is deeply rooted in that rich American dirt first tilled by the founders – folks like the Stanley Brothers\, Flatt and Scruggs\, and Bill Monroe – and further shaped by the great second generation of bluegrass musicians. Continuing this tradition with reverence and creativity\, and playing this music as it’s meant to be played\, is the spirit that guides the County Fools each time they step up to the mic.
