Oregon Mandolin Orchestra’s 2021 Comeback Concert Sept. 12

September 12, 2021 @ 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm

$10

We’re back – in a big way!

Emerging from a long COVID-driven layoff, the Oregon Mandolin Orchestra will be performing live Sept. 12, for the first time since December 2019.

The concert can be live-streamed online at 3 p.m. Sunday through Zoom.

Coming back to the stage is exciting for us and we will be celebrating by performing the world premiere of a new composition commissioned by the OMO.  The concert’s wide-ranging program, crafted by OMO Music Director Christian McKee, also will give voice to pieces from several different musical eras and genres, from Ragtime and Duke Ellington to Django Reinhardt and Gustav Holst.

To sign into the Zoom concert, use this link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/87530908286  The meeting ID is 875 3090 8286.  Guests will have their video off and their sound muted as they enter a “waiting room,” where they will remain until the concert begins at 3 p.m.

Our suggested donation is $10 per person.

Thank you for joining us from the comfort of your homes — wherever you are.  Once the performance begins, please let us know where you are viewing from by using the chat feature.

Our world-premiere, an original composition, entitled “Oregonia,” was written and arranged by John Goodin, an Iowa-based composer whose work has been performed by mandolin orchestras around the world. “Oregonia” was created to evoke the sweeping landscapes of the Oregon Country and the lives of the people who call it home.

Thank you for joining us.  We hope you enjoy our return to the live stage as much as we have getting ready for it.
