The Kindreds are a Willamette
Valley homegrown band hailing from Philomath, Tangent and
Albany, Oregon. The band consists of Steve Martin on guitar
and vocal, Rob Pugliese on mandolin and vocal, Laura South-Oryshchyn
on vocal and Rainier Farmer on standup bass.
- The band was founded in
2002. Their music is rooted in Americana music--acoustic
country flavored folk with a dash of bluegrass and mixed
with original compositions and rich three part vocals. Their
musical influences run the gamut, from Johnny Cash, Doc
Watson, Jimmy Driftwood, James Taylor and beyond.
- Steve has been playing
guitar and composing music for thirty years. Laura South-Oryshchyn
has been singing since she could talk, and also sings with
the Corvallis Repertory Singers. Rob Pugliese has played
guitar since his college days but later discovered his true
calling, the mandolin. Rainier Farmer, also of
Bush Pilots fame
has three decades of bass experience to add to the mix.
