| Roundhouse was formed in 1994 when Ron Leavitt and Kim Jones recruited Doug Dick to join them. The group's performances at festivals and other venues around the Pacific Northwest have included spots at the Oregon State Fair, Seattle's Folk Life Festival', the Northwest's biggest Bluegrass Festival; Wintergrass in Tacoma, WA, the Portland, OR Rose Festival, and the Christmas Concerts at the State Capitol Bldg. in Salem, Oregon. Roundhouse plays a warm mix of traditional and progressive bluegrass, folk, gospel, original compositions, and acoustic rock. Roundhouse blends award winning instrumental skill with extraordinary vocal harmonizing and highly acclaimed a capella songs. The band's most recent CD was awarded the number five spot on the top 10 CDs of 2000 in Washington's Bluegrass Gazette magazine. The group consists of four members: Doug Dick, banjo, guitar, and lead/tenor vocals; Kim Jones, electric bass guitar and lead/tenor vocals; Ron Leavitt, mandolin and lead/baritone vocals, and Rick Campbell on bass. |
