| New Old Friends is a "real deal" traditional bluegrass band that gets its inspiration from the major bluegrass bands from the 1940s through the 1960s, and performs its material (including some original tunes) in a way that keeps the essence of "classic" bluegrass intact. Though all the members of New Old Friends have known each other and played music with each other (in different combinations) for years, this band is the first configuration that brings all the members together at the same time. The band members are Rollie Champe, Chuck Davidshofer, Randy Oman, and Peter Schwimmer. All have played for many years, and have performed with many musicians and bands well known on a local, regional, and national level. Though all play several different instruments, in New Old Friends, they have settled on the following line-up: Rollie – mandolin and vocals; Chuck – acoustic bass and vocals; Randy – guitar and vocals; Peter – banjo and vocals.
